Lydia Kathleen Heisey, long-time resident of the Galesburg vicinity died March , 1960 at Harper, Kansas. Death occurred at the home of a daughter, Lorraine Thurman, with whom Mrs. Heisey had made her home since 1957. She was 85. Lydia K. Wertz was born Jan. 10, 1975, at Middleton, Iowa and came to Kansas with her parents in 1884. She was married to Alvin B. Heisey at Erie on May 18, 1896, and they lived at Galesburg until his death in 1922. She continued to reside there until going to Harper. In addition to Mrs. Thurman, five other daughters survive: Ruth Smischny, Grace Klein, Esther Breneman, Mildred Dringenberg, and Edyth Taylor, one son, Alva Heisey; 18 grandchildren and 12-great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Galesburg Methodist Church.
