Alvin B. Heisey was born at Castle Grove, Iowa on May 2, 1857 and died at Galesburg, Kansas, on October 31, 1922.He moved to Bucklin, Kansas, in 1886, and to Galesburg in 1893, where he has since resided. April 21, 1896 he was united in marriage to Miss Lydia Wertz. Eight children were born to them. Alva, who had but recently gone to Wyoming, Ruth and Grace, who were in school at Wichita, and Esther, Mildred, Edith, Nina, and Lorain at home. Besides these he leaves a wife, and two brothers, J. H. and H. B. Heisey of Monticello, Iowa, and four sisters, Amanda Bowers, Sara Parker, Anna Pfautz, and Alice Pickford. Two sisters died in childhood and two brothers, Aaron and Cyrus passed before him. He was a carpenter in the Galesburg area from 1893 until his death in 1922.
