POTTER ITEMS.

Only one thing has come to make us sad, and that is the death of Mr. John Spencer, which took place very suddenly last Saturday morning about 2 o'clock. Aside from a few slight ailments, Mr. Spencer's health has been quite good and his death, which was caused from heart trouble, was very sudden and unexpected, thus making his loss the harder and keener to bear. He was a man about 60 years of age and an old Mendocinoite [sic] and a pioneer of Potter. He leaves a wife and a large family of children, the latter of whom have all grown to manhood and womanhood. To all we extend our greatest sympathy and pray, tho their hearts are now bowed down in sorrow, that each may bear up bravely under his cross now and look to the great beyond apast the low green tent whose curtains never outward swings.
