Beloved daughter and wife, Nellie became ill not long after her marriage to Correl, and after over a year's illness, died so young.

Nellie May Trim, was the daughter of George Trim and Flora Etta Franklin. She was one of five children born to George and Flora, before Flora died at the young age of 33. Flora Franklin's family came to Colorado from Indiana in 1885. The George Trim family came from Michigan to Colorado around 1880. George Trim left Sunfield, Michigan in 1879 and stopped in Nebraska for a short while, before arriving in Colorado. The Trim and Franklin lands were near each other, and George Trim and Flora Franklin married in 1893 in Washington County, Colorado.

Nellie was an expert horsewoman in her young years in Colorado, and was close to her brother Clarence Trim, and helped him herd cattle.

After Nellie's mother Flora (Franklin) Trim died in 1907, Nellie went to Sunfield, Michigan to live with her Grandmother Trim. She did visit relatives in Colorado several times, and had some schooling in Spence, Colorado. In 1920, she resides with her father George Trim, and leaves Colorado shortly after. A picture of Nellie was taken in 1920, and has a note on the back of the picture saying Nellie left for Michigan, and the Colorado family never saw her again. Nellie married Correl Taylore in Sunfield in 1921. They had Richard in 1923. Nellie died in 1925.

Family letter, from Aunt Katie from Michigan, dated, 30 July 1925-
Nellie was laid away yesterday. She looked nice and had the most beautiful collection of flowers I ever saw.

Letter from Nellie's husband, Correll Taylor to Nellie's father George-
I haven't the courage to write sooner, but will try now. Little Richard is in bed asleep. He doesn't realize much that he has lost his mother and best chum he will ever have. Nellie was a fine little Mother and house wife. She had not been well and strong now for over a year. We have doctored all over the country but it didn't do any good. It must have been to be. I am going to sell the farm near Sunfield and move up to Lansing where my mother lives, so she can care for little Richard. We had planned to come to Colorado next spring to see Nellie's place. (Land that Nellie's father George A. Trim had given to Nellie). Little Richard had asthma pretty bad and I plan to bring him to see you in a year or two. Richard has marked all through the tablet, so you can see some of his writing.

06 August 1929 - letter from George A. Trim in California, to family in Colorado: Little Richard has been really very sick. Dr. says he has had Spinal Meningitis. He is better, except he doesn't seem to be able to hear anything. We are hoping he will get better.

23 April 1939 - letter from Carrie and Jack of Michigan, (Carrie is sister of Nellie's husband Carrel, who are now responsible for Little Richard): We will be trying to send him to college, and he has good report cards.

30 Nov 1934 - letter from Little Richard to his Grandpa George Trim, while attending the MSD school in Flint, Michigan, a school for the deaf -
I am in the 10th grade now and president of my class. And the smartest and the youngest in class. I weigh 175 pounds but gets down to 165 pounds during football. I am 16 years old.

05 Dec 1939 - letter to George Trim from Carrie and Jack-
By now, Richard's father has passed away. He was living with us. Richard's step-mother has "signed off" leaving his fathers estate to Richard. We have sold the car and are preparing to sell the home in Lansing. Richard will be in the 11th grade in Feb 1940.

Note: Carrie (Taylor) and Jack Trowbridge are also buried here in this cemetery.
