IUKA – Lela Gamble, 99, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at Tishomingo Community Living Center. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. She was formerly employed as cafeteria manager at the Iuka School, as a seamstress at Blue Bell and as manager at General Dollar in Iuka. She also worked at Robbins Jewelry and Shoe Mart in Iuka. She enjoyed cooking, crafting and sewing.

Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka. Bro. Stanley Magill and Bro. Ralph Culp will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Joy Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka is entrusted with arrangements.

Survivors include one son, Ronnie Gamble of Iuka; one daughter, Gaye Gamble of Mantachie; one sister, Ruth Welch of Henderson, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Becky, Robert, Donna, Diane, Ralph and Amanda; 12 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Gamble; a daughter, Bennie Joe Brewer; and a grandson, Danny Aldridge.
