Mrs. Byrd Dies of Pneumonia
Mrs. Sallie Byrd died this morning at 7:15 at her home in Binghamton. She had been ill health for the past two years and for the last two weeks had been suffering from pneumonia. She was 73 years old.
The remains will be taken from the Cawood Funeral Home to the John Cawood residence this afternoon. Funeral services have not yet been arranged.
Mrs. Byrd had been a faithful member of the Methodist church since the age of 17.
She is survived by one son, Doyle of Middlesboro, and six daughters, Mrs. Rhoda Runion (Runyon), Oklahoma City, Okla.; Mrs. Jennie Leedy, Catlettsburg, Ky.; Mrs. Daisy Warren, Harlan; Mrs. Harry Ely, Mrs. John Cawood and Mrs. Tom Bull of Middlesboro. She also leaves three daughters-in-law, Mrs. Syp Byrd, Cincinnati, Mrs. John Byrd, Oklahoma City; Mrs. Cloye Byrd of Middlesboro; two stepsons, Charles Byrd of Oklahoma City and Cam Byrd of Middlesboro; thirty one grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
