Mr. Albert Ernest Richardson, 99 of the Pine Creek section of Swords Creek passed away at the home of his son, David Richardson, Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001 following a long illness.

Born in Buchanan County, Va he was the son of the late William Floyd and Ollie Rachael Shortt Richardson. He was a retired coal miner and farmer. He was a member of the Pine Creek Holiness Church. He was a member of the U.M.W.A. Local #6199.

In a addition to his parents he was proceeded in death by his wife, Ruth Virginiabelle Davis Richardson. Three sons- Olbert, Elmer and Claude Richardson. Seven brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by: Four daughters and sons-in-law, Mrs. Angus Dickerson and husband, Richard of Madison, IN., Mrs. Clara Johnson, Morehead, KY, Mrs. Katherine Messick and husband, William of Swords Creek, VA., Mrs. Pauline Miller of Swords Creek, VA.; Three sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. Arnold Richardson and wife Bessie of Salt Lake City, UT., Rev. Daniel Richardson and wife Connie of Swords Creek, VA., David Richardson and Sister Mary of Swords Creek, VA.; Two daughters-in-law, Bessie Richardson and Sarah Richardson of Swords Creek, VA.; One sister, Mrs. Macie Kegley of Mansfield, OH; Twenty six grandchildren; forty seven great-grandchildren; sixteen great great grandchildren; six step great great grandchildren.

The family would like to express a special thanks for Hospice Nurses, Sandy Duty, Lisa Fields, and Helen Johnson and Preferred Home Health Nurses, Cynthia Shelton and Barbara Joyce.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, VA at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 4, 2001 with Rev. Jim Richardson, Rev. Dennis Richardson and Rev. Carl Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Richardson Family Cemetery at Horton Ridge, VA.

Pallbearers will be: Steve Richardson, Ralph Richardson, Randy Richardson, Rodney Richardson, Scottie Richardson, Dean Miller, Bill Hunt and David Horton.

The family will receive friends at Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, VA, Tuesday and Wednesday from 6-9 P.M.
