Daughter of Jabez and Sarah (Payton) Burton. Married William Lively.

From the DuQuoin Evening Call, March 21, 1929.

"Mrs. Luvisa Burton Lively, formerly of DuQuoin, died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Rosan, at Christopher. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Baptist church in this city, the Rev. Weir officiated. Interment at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Luvisa Burton was born at Golconda, IL, on June 6, 1848, and at her death was 79 years, 9 months and 14 days of age.

The family moved to this county when the subject of this sketch was a child, and she has been a resident of this county for more than seventy years.

Deceased was the widow of the late William Lively, who died here about four or five years ago and the family resided for years near St. Johns. Since the death of Mr. Lively, she has lived alternately with one and then another of her children. The surviving children are Mrs. John Rosan, Christopher; Mrs. Robert McQuinn, Christopher; Mrs. Rolla Clark, St. Louis, MO, and Milton and Willard Lively, of near St. Johns, and George Lively, who lives some where in the west. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Julia Wilson, of DuQuoin. She leaves thirty-two grandchildren, five grandchildren also having preceded her in death.

Mrs. Lively became ill some weeks ago at the home of her son, Milton, near St. Johns, and later when he too, became ill, she was removed to the Marshall-Browning Hospital. After improving some she went to the home of the daughter, Mrs. John Rosan, where she later became worse and passed away."
