Red, my dad, grew up on a farm deep in the piney woods of Simpson County. As a young man he left the farm and came to Jackson where he found work in a pecan factory. It was here in 1936 he met and married Guion Frances Winterstein, his wife of 35 years. Red then started working for Jackson Steam Laundry as a dry cleaner and spent the rest of his life in the dry cleaning business. Together Red and Guion were hardworking and devoted parents of four children.
