Thelma's obituary reads as follows:

"Former Sherwood resident Thelma M. Sponseller, 76, died at 5 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008 at Brookview Healthcare Center in Defiance.

She was born May 21, 1931 in Mark Center, the daughter of George and Ethel (Elser) Obenland. In 1951, she married Jerald Sponseller, who died in 2001. She was a graduate of Mark Center High School.

Surviving are two daughters, Pamela (Ronald) Pierce of Ney and Jill (Lee) Nihart, Bryan; a son, Scott Sponseller, Massachusetts; two sisters, Ellen Cooper of Hicksville and Jan Harter, Sherwood; and 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.a. Monday in Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Jim Stinehelfer officiating. Burial will be in Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to service Monday.

Preferred memorials are to Lick Creek Church of the Brethern in Bryan or the Friends of Feline Rescue Center, Defiance. Condolences may be sent to the family and the online guestbook may be signed at www.krillfuneralservice.com."
