Wilma Ruth Baker, 92 of Ballinger died Friday.

Survivors include one sister, two brothers, including Clarence Hallmark and Daniel Hallmark, both of Ballinger.

Family visitation will be held Sunday from 6:30 to 7:30 PM at Lange Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Wilma Baker will be held at 10:30 AM Monday at the Ninth Street Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Old Runnels Cemetery under direction of Lange Funeral Home of Ballinger.

Wilma Ruth Hallmark Baker, 92, of Ballinger, passed away on August 30, 2013 in a local facility. She was born in Melvin TX, on February 8, 1921 to Isaac N. and Minnie Peel Hallmark. She was raised in McCulloch County and attended school at East Gansel School near Doole and later Paint Rock High School. She married Eugene (Gene) Baker on October 9, 1940 and began a sixty three year loving relationship. Eugene preceded her in death on December 12, 2003. Wilma helped her husband farm in Runnels County most of their married life. She also worked for several years at a shoe factory in Ballinger, in the mid 50's. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and making crafts.

Eugene and Wilma are both remembered for being soft spoken, kind, and having gentle spirits. Though the did not have children, their doors were open to their many friends and relatives, including many nieces and nephews, who remember get togethers that involved cranking ice cream freezers and playing games.

Wilma was a long time member of the Ninth Street Church of Christ in Ballinger and missed not being able to attend church when her health began to fail.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother , Herman Hallmark, and six sisters, Thelma Hallmark, Novalene Atwood, Claudine Feeler, Mae Koenig, Mildred Hallmark, and Gladys Patton.

Surviving her is a sister, Billie Holland of San Angelo, and two brothers, Clarence Hallmark and Daniel Hallmark, both of Ballinger and a sister-in-law, Jimmie Jones of Ballinger. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:30 to 7:30 pm Sunday evening at Lange Funeral Home. Services for Wilma Baker will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, September 2, 2013 at the Ninth Street Church of Christ in Ballinger.
Burial will follow in the Old Runnels Cemetery
