Martha Arabelle "Mattie" Battenfield Linton was the daughter of George William Battenfield and Matilda Stanford. She was married in Scottsville, Pope, Arkansas December 19, 1899 in Pope, Arkansas to Samuel Martin Linton. They had four children:

William George Linton,
Robert E. Lee Linton,
Susan Matilda Linton Howard, and
Annie Mae Linton Merritt.

After the death of Samuel Martin Linton, she married Anthony Bewley Danley, Sr. on September 6, 1912 in Fort Smith, Sebastian, Arkansas ( Page 233 by J. L. Hale, Justice of the Peace ) and they had two other children:

Helen Rin Danley, and
Anthony Bewley Danley, Jr.
