A mass of Christian burial for John A. Debroeck, 93, will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2002 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father James McLelland. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2002 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. A vigil service will begin at 6 p.m.

Mr. DeBroeck was born March 19, 1909 in St. Louis, MO and passed away Sunday, June 2, 2002 in Shreveport, LA where he resided most of his life. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church and was retired from A & P after 44 years of loyal service. Mr. Debroeck proudly served our country during World War II in the European Theatre in the 101st Airborne Division.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Andrea Debroeck; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Debroeck; one sister, Marie McGowan; and four brothers, Joe Debroeck, Raymond Debroeck, Harold DeBroeck and Julius Debroeck.

Mr. Debroeck is survived by three brothers, Hubert Debroeck, Henry Debroeck and Paul Debroeck and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be H. Peter Debroeck, Jr., Edward J. McGowan, Michael J. McGowan, Danny McGowan, Henry A. Debroeck, Jr., Dr. Jay Debroeck, Barry J. Debroeck and Dan Morman.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Alan Borne, the nurses and staff at Springlake Guest Care and to the doctors and nurses at the Dialysis Center for all of their excellent care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests, memorials may be made to St Catherine of Siena Catholic Church or to the St. Catherine Community Center.
