From Kenneth Laymon's 1981 book "The Laymon Family"

"Ora Elizabeth Bennett worked very hard all of her life. She had a tremendous self-sacrificing nature, and it's a good thing; for many years she had the financial responsibilies of both of her parents and her niece and nephew. At one time she was trying to feed and clothe five people on $50.00 per month. Always, she went without luxuries, and sometimes necessities, in order to provide her niece with piano lessons and the others with necessitites."

After the untimely death of her sister, Laura Belle (Bennett) Masoner, in 1922, Ora helped her parents raise Laura Belle's two children, Clifton Bennett Masoner and Mary Frances Masoner. Ora also took care of her parents in their old age as well. She never married and passed away only 13 years after her mother passed (1938-1951).
