Jim O. Baker Sr., 80, died June 28, 2006, of natural causes.
A celebration of his life potluck will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Bly Fire Hall. Cremation will be by Eternal Hills Crematory. Eternal Hills Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Baker was born June 3, 1926, in Gallatin, Texas.
On Feb. 15, 1948, he married Mary Henderson.
He worked for Weyerhaeuser Co. from 1945 until retiring in 1983. While there, he drove truck and operated various pieces of machinery.
Survivors include his children Jim O. Baker Jr. and Vicki Baker of Bly, Ben and Troy Baker of Susanville, and Danny and Kathy Baker of KIamath Falls; grandchildren Kodi Baker of Bly, Megan Baker of Susanville, Jessi and Roy Torrero and Ashlee Baker of Las Vegas, Zachery Baker serving in the Marine Corps in Iraq, Ben Baker Jr. of Ashland, Colten Hevern of Redmond, Jim Baker III of Washington, and Danny Baker Jr., Charlie Baker and Erin Baker of Klamath Falls; great-grandchildren Kalee Wright and Gracie Torrero of Las Vegas; sisters Julie Gowan, Gertie Dudley, Rachel Meador, Inez Chandler and Pearl Henderson, all of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers Briss, Jack and Joe and sisters Bonnie Baker, Blanche Derr, Ruth Booth and Margie White.
