DECATUR, Tenn. -- Sam Houston Davis Jr. of Decatur died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998. He was 78.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Lee Davis; son, Larry H. Davis, Cartersville, Ga.; two daughters, Judi Hennessee, Decatur, and Teresa Beasley, Chattanooga; four sisters, Sue Land and Mildred Ray, both of Athens, and Veda Miller and Ina Lockmiller, both of Decatur; a brother, Kenneth Davis, Athens; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 8 p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home, Decatur. A military burial will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Walnut Grove Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Walnut Grove Baptist Church Building Fund.
