Edwin Ford Gardner "Ted"

Ted Gardner, 81, passed away on August 10, 2006 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on March 17, 1925 to Vernal and Harriet Riggs Gardner in West Jordan, Utah. Ted married Barbara Deming on August 19, 1949 in American Fork, Utah. Together they raised three children. Ted graduated from Jordan High School in 1943, was a member of the state championship team, and all-state football team. He faithfully served in the Pacific during World War II with the 158th Bushmasters. He owned and operated both a trucking company and a construction company. Ted enjoyed antique tractors and engines, driving the open road, and spending time with his family.
Survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Vernal (Kim) Gardner; Hollie (Nick) Gilliland; Lori Gardner; grandchildren, Emily, Amanda, and William Gilliland; sisters, Allah (John) Devey; Shirley Fletcher. Preceded in death by his parents, Vernal and Harriet Gardner; brother, John R. (Billie) Gardner; sister, Adeline (Bob) Rose.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 14, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Goff Mortuary Chapel, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale, Utah. Friends may call on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary and one hour prior to the services on Monday. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.
