William Brown Newton age 92 of Arkadelphia died Thursday, May 29, 2008 in Arkadelphia. He was born September 18, 1915 in Cornerville, Arkansas the son of Thomas Ingram and Mellie Johnson Newton. He was a graduate of Star City High School. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Third Infantry in the European Theater as a member of a recon unit. A machinist by trade, he retired from Ben Pearson Manufacturing as a production manager. His wife of sixty-three years, Iris "Totsie" Newton preceded him in death on February 26, 2008.
Survivors include one daughter, Karen Newton of Little Rock; one son Tom Newton and his wife, Rebecca of Longview, Texas; three grandchildren, Tommy and Katy Newton of Dallas, Texas; Andy Newton of Longview, Texas and one brother, Harold Newton of Richardson, Texas.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Newton‘s Chapel Cemetery at Cornerville, Arkansas with Bro. James Calhoun officiating.
