Iris Hope "Totsie" Walters Newton, age 87, died February 26, 2008 at Twin Rivers Nursing Home in Arkadelphia. She was born September 4, 1920, in Provo, AR, the daughter of William Nathan and Sophie Beutelschies Walters. She was a graduate of Dierks High School and Henderson State University. She was retired from the Pine Bluff public school system and was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Pine Bluff. Survivors are Brown Newton, husband, of Arkadelphia; Tom Newton, son, and wife, Rebecca, of Longview, TX; Karen Newton, daughter, of Little Rock AR; three grandchildren, Katy and Tommy Newton of Dallas, TX, and Andy Newton of Longview, TX; sisters, Clarice Evans, of Mineola, TX, Mary Wheeler, of Hot Springs, AR; Elaine Hall of Boca Raton, Fl.
