Tom as he was known by most was born on January 12, 1950, in Star City, Arkansas to William Brown Newton and Iris (Totsie) Hope Newton. He graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1968. After high school he attended Henderson State University where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.
In his professional life he spent many years as a Salesman in the Equipment and Oil and Gas Industries where he made many lifelong friends along the way.
In his later years he enjoyed being employed at the Elderville Water Supply where he was loved by not only his coworkers but the many members of Elderville whom he interacted with on a daily basis.
He is preceded in death by his parents Brown and Totsie Newton and his wife Rebecca Jean Newton.
Tom was a longtime member of Winterfield United Methodist Church in Longview. For many of his adult years he was a member of the Longview AMBUCS where he proudly donated his time.
