Funeral Held for George Courtney
WALLOWA – Funeral services were held from the Christian church here Dec. 26 for George Courtney, who passed away December 23 at Spokane.
Mr. Courtney was born at Pipersville, Ill. and was 82 years of age. He had been a resident of this county for the past 48 years, living the most of the time in the Troy section where he farmed and at one time operated a general merchandise store. His wife precede him in death 12 years ago, during the most of the time since he has made his home with his children.
He was the father of five children four of whom are still living. One son, Melvin, lives at Peck, Idaho; another son a Clarkston: one daughter, Mrs. Wilma Mallory, resides at Clarkston, and another daughter, Mrs. Roy Car per, at Wallowa. He is also survived by several grandchildrne.
