Funeral Services Held Friday for Willie G. Cook

Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon, October 10 at the U.B. church near Walnut for Willie G. Cook, who died at his farm home near Walnut on Wednesday last week.

Rev. Anderson of Orchard was in charge of the rites. W. W. Strope and his sons sang hymns and they were accompanied at the organ by Mr. Strope's daughter.

Burial was made in the Enterprise cemetery near Venus. J. L. Groeling, Jim Mott, Carl Nelson, Art Boelter, Theo Kinnison and Irven Miller were pallbearers. Mrs. Annie Marshall, Mrs. Aloha Marshall and Mrs. Eunice Mitties had charge of the flowers.

Friend and relatives from Sioux City, Iowa, Verdigre, Creighton, Winnetoon, Orchard, Atkinson, O'Neill, Spencer, Lynch and Dorsey were in attendance at the service.

Willie G. Cook passed away at his home Wednesday morning, October 7, from a heart attack. He had been in poor health for the past 14 years, and at that time he had a stroke.

He lived all his life near Walnut and at which place he was born on November 5th, 1877. At the time of his passing, Mr. Cook was 90 years, 11 months and 3 days of age.

On December 23, 1896, he was married to Miss Rosa May Butterfield at Niobrara. To them were born five children. One daughter Lela Grim preceded him in death in December 1925.

Survivors are his wife; one son, Orval, and three daughters, Mrs. Frank Belka, Mrs. Wm. Woodworth and Mrs. Earl Woodworth. , all residing hear home. Also there are 12 grandchildren, one brother, Guy Cook of Venus and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Cook was a kind and loving companion and father to his wife and children.
