Mrs. Walter P. Gunn
Mrs. Sallie Gunn, wife of Mr. Walter P. Gunn, one of the leading citizens of the county, died at her home in the section Saturday, Nov. 9 about 3 p. m. of acute indigestion.
Mrs. Gunn spent Thursday in town attending the Fair, and, upon arriving home late evening, was suddenly taken ill.
She was better Saturday and her death that afternoon was very sudden and unexpected. Mrs.Gunn was about 61 years of age.
She leaves a husband and four children, Mrs. Jim Moore, Mrs. Will Denman of Ottine and Mrs. Verne Crozier and Mrs. Austin Miller of Waelder, to morn her loss, besides three sister, Mrs. C. K. Walter of this city, and Mrs. J. T. Campell and Mrs. W. W. Foster of Waelder, and a brother, J. M. Gunn of San Antonio.
She is survived by a large number of nieces and nephews and other relatives, there being a large family connection. Four children preceded her to the great beyond.
She was a native of North Carolina, coming to Texas when quite a small child.
She grew to womanhood in this county and had resided here continuously.
Unity with the Methodist Church when but a young girl, she lived and was highly esteemed and loved by all who knew her.
Funeral services were conducted at the Thompsonville Church Sunday afternoon by Rev. L. C. Mathis, pastor of the Methodist church of this city. Interment was made in the Thompsonville cemetery.
A number of beautiful floral offerings evidenced the love and esteem in which the decedent was held.
The funeral was very largely attended by relatives and friends from the county.
A number of relatives at a distance also attended.
