Final Rites Held for Mrs. John Sanders
Devoted relatives and friends assembled in the Chapel of the Barry Funeral Home at eleven o'clock yesterday morning to pay final tribute to Mrs. Lillie Adair Sanders, wife of John W. Sanders, retired railroad man. The rites were conducted by the Rev. W R Hammontree, pastor of the Methodist Church of which Mrs. Sanders was a member. Burial was in the I O O F Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Charlie Anderson, Earl Grauer, E D Graham, E M Fitzgerald, A G Ritter and Edgar Corley.
After a long illness Mrs. Sanders, who was 78, died Sunday night in a Winona Hospital where she was taken Saturday. She developed pneumonia Sunday.
A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Templeton Adair, she had made her home in Okolona since a small child. At the age of four years she moved from Rienzi with her parents and had lived in the same location since that time.
In addition to her husband, she leaves two daughters, Mrs. J R O'Brien of Norfolk, Va., and Mrs. W L Tyler of Winona; two sons, William and Clinton Sanders, of Norfolk; a brother, John Adair of Citronelle, Ala., three sisters, Mrs. A R Adkisson of Jackson, and Mrs. Mrs. Mattie Gray and Miss Minnie Adair, and five grandchildren. With the exception of Clinton and one grandson, all of these were here for the rites.
A large number of relatives and friends from out of town were here.
