Charles Edward Kelley, 63, of Roswell, NM, died Aug. 18, 2000, at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell.

Funeral services were held at 2 PM Tuesday, Aug. 22, at South Main Church of Christ in Roswell. Robert Moore and Douglas Hale officiated. Burial was at South Park Cemetery in Roswell, with a Masonic service by the Roswell Masonic Low Twelve Club.

Mr. Kelly was born Feb. 27, 1937 in Hannibal to Charles H. and Mary Keim Kelley. He had been married to Mona Kay Kelley for 17 years. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Charles Scott Kelley of Tucson, AZ, Shawn Edward Kelley of Seattle, WA and Ed Bowley of Andrews, TX; two daughters, Nola Kay Miller of Roswell and Susan Roddy of Morton, TX, one sister, Mary Rozanne Allensworth of New Canton, IL; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Bill Kelley and Gary Kelley.

Mr. Kelley was a sergeant in the US Army. He later became a master carpenter, millwright, pipefitter and welder. Most recently he had been a self-employed contractor in Roswell, where he was known for his craftsmanship in woodworking.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge of Hull, IL, Chapter No. 910, and he had been a member of the Millwright Union No. 1914 for 40 years.
