James Henry "Jim" Frommer, 69, Valley Falls, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at his home.

He was owner and operator of Frommer Oil Co. in Valley Falls. He had worked as a sheet metal worker at the Santa Fe Railway Shop, in Topeka.

He was born on July 4, 1937, at Half Mound, Kansas, the son of Henry J. and Juanita George Frommer. He graduated from Valley Falls High School and attended Ottawa University for one year. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and had been a member of the former Masonic Lodge No. 21 A.F. & A.M. at Valley Falls. He was a coach for many years for summer youth baseball. He served in the U. S. Army and was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.

He married Patsy Allen on November 29, 1958, at Valley Falls. Survivors include his wife, Patsy Frommer, Valley Falls; his son, Tony Frommer, Denison, his daughter, Lori Grollmes, Valley Falls; two brothers, Gene Frommer, Loveland, CO, and John Frommer, Lee's Summit, MO; a sister, Deanna Hardenburger, Olathe; grandchildren, Klinton, Danielle and Britten Grollmes and Melissa Burden, and great-grandchildren, Dalton and Gavin Burden.

A funeral service was held Monday, July 2, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial was at the Valley Falls Cemetery with military services by Grahem-Herbers Post 3084, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
