daughter of Honorable David Johnson and Hannah Ammen. First cousin of Rear Admiral Daniel Ammen and General Jacob Ammen and childhood and life long friend of General and Mrs. U.S. Grant. Attended the same school with U.S. Grant in Georgetown Ohio and lived down the street from the Grant family home.. Her father was judge in Brown County and later in Highland County Ohio.Daniel Ammen was childhood and life long chum with Grant. And at age 9 saved Grant from drowning in the creek.
