A Davenport man, Everett Nelson, died at Mary Lanning
Hospital, Hastings, Monday, Dec. 9, at the age of 82 years and 6 days.

The funeral was Friday at 2 p.m., from the United Methodist
Church, Davenport. The Rev. John Nellessen officiated.

Burial was in the Davenport Cemetery.

Urbauer Funeral Home, Davenport, was in charge of the arrangements.

He was born Dec. 3,1903, near Hardy, the son of Jens C. and Lena Fredericksen Nelson.

Nelson was baptized in the Danish Lutheran faith at
Ruskin by Pastor L. Jensen in 1909 and later transferred to the United Methodist Church,Davenport.

He was married to Blanche Matson at Nora in 1927 and they
lived in the Nora area until 1937, when they moved to Davenport.

They had a son, Roger, Davenport.

Preceding him in death were his parents and four brothers,
Julius Nelson, Arthur Nelson, Harold Jensen and Julius
Jensen.

Survivors are his wife, Blanche, Davenport; son, Roger, Davenport; three granddaughters, Mrs. Robert Folkerts (Debbie) of Davenport, Mrs. Todd Jensen (Julie) of Aurora and Carla Nelson, Lincoln, two step-grandchildren three great-grandchildren two brothers, Oscar Nelson of Hastings and Murray Nelson, Polk; and an uncle, Chris Mortensen, a resident at the Superior Good Samaritan Center.
