Floyd W. Carr Jr., 73, of Morton, formerly of Tremont, died at 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born Feb. 3, 1935, in Bloomington to Floyd W. and Elva Cullers Carr Sr. He married Ernestine F. Garling on Sept. 21, 1958, in Bloomington. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, David Carr of Peoria; three daughters, Connie (and Bill) Holtke of Washington, Sally (and Neal) Stimpert of Groveland and Debra (and Brian) Schmitgall of Hopedale; six grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn Mitchell of Bloomington and Nancy (and Frances) Brown of Peoria.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, William Carr; and one sister, Joan Hannah.

Floyd owned and operated Western Auto in Tremont and later Carr Disposal in Bartonville. He last owned and operated Carr's Produce in the Metro Center in Peoria.

He was in the National Guard and Army Reserves from 1957 to 1963.

He attended Faith Christian Center in Washington and was a former member of Tremont Lions Club.

A graveside service will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont.
