Sarah was born on November 19, 1936, in Crab Orchard, KY to the late Samuel and Vivian (Osborne) Barnard.
The Barnard family moved to the Freetown, IN area in 1939 and Sarah remained in Freetown until moving to Indianapolis after she graduated from Brownstown High School in 1954.
On May 21, 1955, she married the love of her life, Joseph L. Wooldridge, who precedes her in death.
Sarah worked for Bell Telephone company before deciding to stay home to care for their daughter, Janice. In 1960, they moved to Brownstown and opened a general store. In 1964, they moved to Medora, IN where Sarah lived for many years before going to live full time at Hoosier Christian Village. Sarah was a lifelong caregiver. She not only cared for her daughter, as well as for a special needs young lady for over 23 years.
Survivors include her sister, Ruth Hillenburg Nelson-Brittain; sisters-in law, Joyce Barnard and Phyllis Barnard; niece, Angela (Charles) Crawford; and several other nieces and nephews.
Sarah is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter, Janice M. Wooldridge, brothers, Oakley Barnard, Emmitt Barnard, Hershall Barnard, and Marcus Barnard, and sisters, Nila Mize and Anna Belle Taylor, brothers-in-law, Sonny Taylor, Phil Hillenburg and Arthur Nelson, and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Barnard and Shirley Barnard.
