Jim worked for many years as a coast to coast truck and bus driver. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Jim loved to travel and looked forward to the yearly family trip to Louisiana. Above all else, Jim loved his family and will be missed by many.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Tina Houghton-Francis; sons, Delbert Houghton (Laurell), Donald Houghton, Ron Houghton (Jeanna), and Eric Dockery (Tawani); sister, Doris; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Linda Darlene (Crow) Houghton; daughter, Deborah K. Gardner; sons, James Houghton, Jr., Thomas Dockery, and Dennis Houghton; his parents; sisters, Della, Juanita, Lois, Donna, Barbara, and Louise; brothers, Loran and Charles; and dear friends, William "Dickie" Temme and Vic Ross.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until service time on Wednesday
