Lois was born in Evansville, Indiana on September 16, 1937 to the late Oliver P. and Martine L. (Basham) Houghton. She worked at Walmart for 10 years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Elberfeld. Lois had a green thumb and enjoyed being in her flower garden. She especially loved being with her family during the Christmas season.
Lois is survived by her sons, Michael Cummings (Vivian) of Haubstadt, IN, Curtis Cummings (Lisa) of Cecilia, KY, Bill Miller (Dawn) of Brandenburg, KY; siblings, Jim Houghton, Charlie Houghton, Doris Pemberton, Loren Houghton, Barbara Brinker; grandchildren, Tim Cummings, Jarrod Cummings (Kenda), Chester Gray (Amanda), Denny Gray (Jessie), Lee Grant Cummings (Crystal), Amanda Daniels (Sammy), C.J. Cummings, Austin Cummings, Billy Cummings, Rebecca Twyman, Lauren Miller (Josh) and several great grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her first husband, Marvin Cummings; second husband, Bill Miller Sr.; her most recent companion, David Collins; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and George Gray and other brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue, Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor David Schulz officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
