Kester Hershberger, 95, of Looneyville, Roane County, died Sunday at the home of J. N. Holland, Looneyville, after a brief illness.

He was born Jan. 27, 1869, son of the late W. L. and Margaret Steele Hershberger. He was a retired blacksmith and farmer and a member of the Clendenin Methodist Church and the Linden Masonic lodge.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. J. N.Holland, Looneyville, Mrs. W. H. Woodling, Akron, Oh, Mrs. Laura Eddleman of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Ruth Vineyard, Moddleboro, Mass., Mrs. Pauline Jones, of Baltimore, Md.; seven sons: Lon, Opie, Paul, Harley and Frank; all of Clendenin, W. P. Hershberger of Clay, and Ernest Hershberger, of Akron.

Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Sally Mayfield of Chicago, Ill; 45 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Sinnett funeral home, Spencer, with the Rev. Orland Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in the Ferrell cemetery, Looneyville. Friends may call at the funeral home.
