Betty was born to the late James Earl Cass, Sr. and Sarah Fannie Randolph Cass. She was the beloved sister of the late Lavenia Cass, Mary Ruth Bilbrey, and James Earl Cass, Jr. Betty was also predeceased by her daughter: Debbie Martin and her grandson: Billy Sliger.
She leaves behind her devoted sons: Mark and his wife Melissa Sliger of Crossville, John and his wife Kim Sliger of Cookeville, and Gary and his wife Cathy Sliger of Baxter; her supportive brother: Jerry and his wife Connie Cass of Cookeville, and her loving sisters: Carolyn and her husband Gene Whitley of Fort Myers FL, and Judy and her husband Mike Estes of Tuscaloosa, AL. Betty's memory will continue to be cherished by her grandchildren: Lauren (John) Bilbrey, Blake (Cassidy) Sliger, Josh Sliger, Bradley Sliger, Deanna Sliger, Shawna Martin, Taylor Randolph and Jennifer Hester. She was also blessed with several great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.
Betty attended the former Boiling Springs school in her early years. She later went on to work at Thomas Industries in Sparta, Tennessee. Betty was a loving mother who provided for her family single-handedly, showcasing her hardworking and independent nature. She obtained her driver's license in the mid-40s, a testament to her self-reliance and determination. Her caring and giving nature was evident in every interaction, and her dedication to her family was unwavering.
Betty had a deep love for spending quality time with her family. Her presence at family gatherings was always comforting and filled with laughter and joy. She was enjoyed attending car shows and was a fan of country music.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 18th in the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment followed at Boiling Springs Cemetery. Pastor Seth Presley officiated.
