PRESTON BACK, age 85, of Lakengren, Eaton, OH, formerly of Middletown, OH and Deltona, FL, passed away Sunday morning July 23, 2000 at the Greenbriar Nursing Care Center in Eaton. Mr. Back was born January 1, 1915 in Morgan County, KY and spent his childhood in Menifee Co., KY. He was a son of the late Winfield Scott & Emma Lou (Richardson) Back. He had served in the US Army during WW II; had worked, along with his sons, as a self-employed carpenter; was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Camden, OH; former member of the Grace Baptist Church of Middletown where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, choir member and member of the Building Committee, and; was also a former member of the Deltona Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, choir member and member of the Church School Board.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by Brother: Charles Back; Sisters: Bethel Baker, Ida Craft, Addie Robinson, Imogene Whitt and Corda Wilson; Son-in-law: John Wood, Sr.

Survived by his Wife: Myrtle Elizabeth (Avery) Back, whom he married November 21, 1936; Children & their Spouses: Roberta & Earl O'Banion of Eaton, Loretta & James Roberts of Eaton, Richard & Wanda Back of Camden, Harvey Scott & Linda Back of Camden, Bonnie & Gary Wood Weisenbarger of Eaton and Sandra & Robert Williams of Trenton, OH; 20 Grandchildren, 32 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren; Brother: Edward Back of Middletown; Sisters: Ladeska Howard of Middletown and Florence Downing of Trenton.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 27, at Barnes Funeral Home-Preble Memory Gardens Chapel, 3377 U.S. 35 (between West Alexandria and Eaton), West Alexandria, with Pastors Greg Jackson and Dr. Howard Sears officiating. Burial will be in Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Funds of the First Southern Baptist Church of Camden, or to Grace Baptist Church of Middletown.
