HOWARD, Lodeska (Back) passed away on June 24, 2007 at Middletown Regional Hospital. Lodeska was born on May 14, 1911 to Scott & Emma Lou Back in Morgan County, KY. She has been a resident of Middletown, OH since since 1926. She first worked at Sorg Paper Company and later the P. Lorillard Tobacco Factory where she played on the Women's Softball Teams. She met and married Georgie Howard in 1933. Two children were born to them - LaVonne and G. David Howard. She later worked at the McAlpins for over 21 years - where she managed several different departments. Upon retiring in 1978 from McAlpins she worked in the Better Dresses. She was very active at the Crawford Street Church of God for many years. Lodeska was born to a family of 10 siblings - 7 of which have preceded her in death . . . Ida Craft, Charles Back, Cordelia Craft-Wilson, Addy Roberson, Bethel Baker, Imogene Whitt and Preston Back. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son-in-law, Richard Michael. She lived for her family, both those born to her and her siblings and their families. She is survived by her daughter, LaVonne Michael of Middletown and her son, G. David Howard and his wife, Dana of Largo, FL. She has eight grandchildren, Kenneth Cole (Laurie) of Trenton, OH, Carol Myers (Tom) of Newark, OH, Sheri Zugelder (Matthew) of Huber Heights, Matthew Michael (Julie) of Wichita Falls, TX, Scott Howard (Marlene) of Valpariso, IN, Kent Howard (Mercedes) and Kirt Howard (Kim) of Largo, FL and Brett Howard (Michelle) of Fayetteville, NC. She is also survived by 12 Great-grandchildren; Klifton & Ramsey Cole of Trenton; Joshua, Jordan & Megan Zugelder of Huber Heights, OH; Jared & Caleb Myers of Newark, OH; Aeleigh and Brent Howard of Valpariso, IN; Katey Howard of St. Petersburg, FL and Madison & Kayleigh Michael of Wichita Falls, TX. She is survived by one brother, Edward Back of Middletown and one sister, Eula Florence Downing of Trenton, OH Visitations will be at Baker-Stevens Funeral Home Thursday, June 28th from 5 to 8 PM with Funeral Service on Friday, June 29th at 12:00 PM also at the Funeral Home.
