Okey Tolliver, 76, of Pineville, passed away peacefully at Raleigh General Hospital on Friday, July 28, 2023, following a short illness.

He was born June 21, 1947, at Tralee to the late Rev. Calloway and Ada Cozort Tolliver.

Okey loved to hunt and just being on the riverbank with his son, Russell. He especially loved his granddaughter, Addison Helen Marie Tolliver (who will always be his little Addie bug).

He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Tolliver; two sons, Brian Keith Adkins and Steven Ray Tolliver; five sisters and six brothers: Sadie McComas, Gracie McComas, Mazie Church, Sylvia Billings, Frances Sims, Isaac, James, Jess, Hiram, Alvis and Raymond Tolliver.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children: Wayne Adkins and wife, Linda, Russell Tolliver and Lora Shopshire and husband, Danny; his sister, Trisha Mills; brothers, Bobby Goode and Dale Tolliver; Tiffany Hurt, whom he loved like a daughter; his special granddaughter, Addie bug; a very special niece, Jean Cook and her husband, Eddie; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Phillip Just, Michael and Austin Sinecoff, Will Ball, Josh Morgan and Tammy Cooper will serve as pallbearers.
