Milaca

Thomas Bahns passed away on October 23rd, 2023, at home in Milaca. Funeral Services will be Friday November 3rd at 11am at Emblom -Brenny Funeral Chapel in Pierz. A visitation will take place 2 hours prior to services.

Tom enjoyed fishing, blackjack and sports, especially softball. He was a great fantasy ball player and physically played 100 games of softball yearly, until about 2 years ago. His bucket list goals were to outlive his 18-year-old cat, which he did, and to ride to the moon (238,000 miles) on his stationary bike. He was only short by 7800 miles. After retirement from construction, he took a part time job as a bartender at "Hardtimes Bar" in Hillman and worked there for the last seven years. His fondness for politics was well known. Tom was generous to the down-trodden and helped many. He loved cats and many strays found their way to his door. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Tom is survived by his children John (special friend Kara) Bahns, Chad (Katie) Poser, Jacob Roth; siblings Shirley (Larry) Nixon, Dianne (Doug) McPhaden, Judy Olson-Wells: grandchildren Caleb, Ashton, Levi Poser; Dominic, Bennett Roth. He is preceded in death by parents: John and Elvira Bahns, sisters' Veronica Strom, Carol Olson-Duval; Brother-in-laws Harold Strom, Tony Olson, and Bruce Wells; Brenda Bahns (John's mother).
