Frances was born April 9, 1930, in Allison, Iowa, the daughter of George and Flossie (Berends) Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church in Allison.
She completed school through the 8th grade.
On February 27, 1948, she was united in marriage to Anton Johnson at St. James Lutheran Church in Allison.
Frances worked alongside Anton on the farm in numerous ways.
She was a wonderful mother and homemaker.
She was a member of the Triple J, Jefferson Community Club and enjoyed square dancing.
Anton passed away in 1999, and Frances continued to live on the farm until her passing.
Frances was a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church in Allison. She ensured the family made it to church each Sunday, and the kids to Sunday School without fail.
She believed in hard work, but ensuring the work was done by noon. Tea was served daily at 3:00 p.m. and she loved to bake. In addition, she enjoyed quilting, sewing, and making clothes for her children.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Anton; brothers, Everettt, John, Harry, George, Stauffer, Fred, Lawrence, Herbert and Alfred; sisters, Kathryn Eilderts and Mildred Johnson, as well as numerous in laws, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at St. James Lutheran Church in Allison with Rev. Rebecca Baird officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in the Allison Cemetery in Allison.
