Heber Wilde, son of Henry Phillips Wilde and Jane (Batchelor) Wilde, was born in Sugar House, Salt Lake, Utah a few days after his parents arrived in the Salt Lake Valley after crossing the plains by handcart. Jane, though heavily pregnant with Heber, had to pull the handcart most of the way because Henry was very ill.

Heber married Martha Moore, daughter of Abram Moore and Charlotte (Wilkinson) Moore, 20 Sept 1883 in the Endowment House in Salt Lake City, Utah. They had one child, Nellie, 10 May 1884 in Coalville, Summit, Utah.

Heber was a teamster by trade.

Heber died in Coalville at the age of 28. For a long time I have wondered why he died so young. Was it a work-related accident? Was he ill? Some ancestors just fascinate me and I long to learn more about their life, and Heber is one of those ancestors.
