Lawrence A. "Bud" Holeman was born July 22, 1915, in Drumright, Oklahoma, the son of Rev. John W. Holeman and Vida Harvell Holeman and died Tuesday, August 19, 1997, Chickasha, at the age of eighty-two years and twenty-seven days. Bud was raised on a dairy farm near the Olive Community east of Drumright. He was active in 4-H Club during high school and won honors in showing and judging livestock and dairy cattle, winning the outstanding 4-H Club Boy for Creek County. Bud married Hazel Marie Wilson on September 27, 1936, in Cushing, Oklahoma. Mr. Holeman was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army Combat Engineers. Bud worked for Mobil Oil Corporation for 32 years in Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas, retiring in 1978. He was an active member of Epworth United Methodist Church, a member of the Wedding Ring Sunday School Class and the Yet Set. He has served on the Administrative Board, Finance Committee, and Evangelism Committee of Epworth. He was preced in death by his parents and six sisters. Survivors include his wife Hazel Holeman of the home, one daughter and her husband Marilyn and Steve Bowers, one grandson, Mark Bowers; two granddaughters and their husbands, Jennifer and John Federline, Leah and Richard Smith, one great granddaughter, Julia Marie Federline all of Tulsa. Mr. Holeman is also survived by one brother and his wife, Rev. John and Bea Holeman, Stone Mountain, Georgia; four sisters and husbands that include Nina and Floyd Bruce, Anderson, Indiana; Florence Yokely, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Juanita Brooks of California; Lorene and Jim Fine, Tucker, Georgia. He is also survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, Polly and Stanley Dobbs, Johnny and Ruth Wilson, Jack Wilson, Lola and Leland Murphy all of the Oklahoma City area, Bud and Stacey Wilson of Grayville, Illinois and their families. Place of interment was at Bristow, Creek Co., OK, City Cemetery. Officiaing ministers at Bristow were Rev. John D. Holeman, brother of Lawrence A. Holeman and Rev. Howard Baker of Walla Walla, WA, nephew of Lawrence Holeman, son of Edith Holeman.
