Former Bremerton resident Eva Rothschild-Brooks, 81, of Montesano died Oct. 9, 2000, at her son's home in Montesano. She was born July 26, 1919, in Olive, Okla., to the Rev. John and Vida Holeman. She graduated from Olive High School and attended nursing school. She left nursing school to serve in the Army during World War II. She married John Maier Rothschild in 1943. He preceded her in death in 1972.
She married Robert Stanley Brooks in 1975. He preceded her in death in 1995. She served on the board of directors of the Kitsap County Indian Center and was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include a son, John Rothschild of Montesano; four daughters, Eva Rothschild and Linda Gentry, both of Bremerton, Loleta Schnider of Elma and Kathy Ford of Laguna Hills, Calif.; two brothers; 10 sisters; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
A gathering of friends and family is planned for noon Saturday at the Elma Grange in Elma.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Suquamish Tribal Elders Fund at the Suquamish Tribal Center.
