Pioneer Resident Dies At Daughter's Home Near Patriot
Death claimed another of our pioneer citizen last Thursday morning when John Scott, retired farmer, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Roy Bunger, of near Patriot.
Mr. Scott had been ill for several month prior to his death.
He was the son of Francis and Sina Coy Scott and was born at the family homestead near Florence on March 11th, 1854.
His wife, who was Miss Louise Anna Klupz, passed away on July 20, 1909.
Beside Mrs. Bunger he is survived by two other children, Mrs. Delia Vaughn and William Scott, both of Indianapolis. He also leaves three brothers, George Scott of Rising Sun, and Abram and Pryor Scott, both of Florence, and several grandchildren.
The deceased was a fine old gentleman who was highly respected by many friends in the county.
The funeral services were held at two o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Quercus Grove M.E. church.
