Well Known Farmer Dies in York Twp
Abraham Scott Passes In Eighty-Third Year
Abraham Scott, a prominent farmer of York Township, died at his home near Delhi about five-thirty o'clock Sunday evening following an illness of several weeks.
The deceased was a son of Francis and Lina Coy Scott and was born at the family homestead there on December 13th, 1852. When a young man he married Miss Ellen White of York Township and following her death was married to Miss Lena Smith of Florence, who with a son Dorrell survives him. A son and daughter by his first marriage, Frank Scott and Mrs. Annabelle Scudder, both of York Township, and two brothers, George Scott of Vevay, and Pryor Scott of near Florence also survive.
Mr. Scott was a man whose greatest interest centered in his family and his farm work and during his long life had made and retained the friendship of many people.
The funeral services were held at the Florence M.E. church Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock. Rev. Royal Canfield officiated and interment was made in the Vevay cemetery with Haskell & Morrison in charge.
