Mrs. Ethel Bailey, 74 years old, 2204 Main street, Galena, Kan. passed away at 10:20 o'clock Thursday morning in Maude Norton Memorial hospital in Columbus, Kan. where she had been a patient since Wednesday afternoon after becoming ill at her home.

Mrs. Bailey was born in Galena, Kan. on November 15, 1893.

She was a member of Sixth Street Baptist church.

Her husband, Ora Wallace Bailey, preceeded her in death on October 25, 1935.

Loved ones who survive are three sons, Bill Bailey, Nowata, Okla., and Bob Bailey and Thomas Bailey, both of Galena, Kan.; five daughters, Mrs. Retha Vaughn, Millstadt, Ill., Mrs. Nellie Lane, Mrs. Rayma Eckler and Mrs. Rachel Brooks, all of Galena, Kan., and Mrs. Sarah Bilke, Quapaw, Okla.; route 1; two sisters, Mrs. Neva Garrison, Galena, Kan., and Mrs. Francis (Bunt) Kersh, Louviers, Colo., 26 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the chapel of the Derfelt funeral home with the Rev. Cecil Smith and Rev. Jerry McCamey officiating.

Pallbearers were Harold Dean, Rev. Harry Shallenburger, George Shallenburger, Phillip Geisler, Joe Jenkins and Don Green.

She was laid to rest in Oak Hill cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Derfelt funeral home of Galena.
