Leah Rachael Brooks, age 73 of Galena, KS, passed away at her home at 8:35 a.m. Monday, December 20, 1999 after a long illness.

Born October 8, 1926 in Galena, she was a homemaker and lived there most of her lifetime.

On August 11, 1947 she married George Murel Brooks at Neosho (sic). He preceded her in death on October 15, 1990.

Survivors include a daughter, Murlene Brookshire of Galena; two sons, Mike Brooks of Salina, KS, and Randy Brooks of Claremore, OK; a brother, Bill Bailey of Galena; two sisters, Nellie Vaughn and Rayma Ecklor (sic) [Eckler], both of Galena; four grandchildren, Jason, Crystal, Tony, and Tab; one great-grandson, Chase.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Galena with Cora Stokes officiating.

The family will receive friends at the home, 1819 Galena Ave.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.

Rachel was first married to Herman Keyser, Jr. They divorced. They had no children together.
