Helen Roselea Rodecap, 85, of Meriden, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Lexington Park Nursing in Topeka. She was born on April 1, 1929 in Topeka, the daughter of Paul Edward and Zelia Dewey Bell. She was a 1947 graduate of Meriden High School, and served as a postmaster at Meriden United States Postal Service for many years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Meriden, Chapter 399, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the Meriden FunFair Board, Foster Grandparent, and a member of the City Council and Election Board. She was married to Roy Eugene Rodecap on September 3, 1949 in Topeka, he preceded her in death on December 13, 1996. She is survived by two daughters, Betty Ann (Theron) Anderson, of Meriden, and Norma (Rich) Vink, of Topeka, one son-in law, Gary Johnson, Meriden, five grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Marilyn Lee Johnson, one great grandson, Zachary Kirk, and two brothers, Raymond Bell and Elmer Bell. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Meriden United Methodist Church in Meriden. Burial will follow at Meriden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the Barnett Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 602, Oskaloosa, KS 66066.
