Roy E. Rodecap
MERIDEN -- Roy E. Rodecap, 71, Meriden, died Friday, Dec. 13, 1996, at his home. He had
lung cancer.
Mr. Rodecap was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army.
He was a heavy equipment operator and owned and operated a dump truck.
Mr. Rodecap was born June 30, 1925, at Meriden, the son of George and Lola Josephine
Stewart Rodecap.
He was a member of the American Legion No. 400 and the Meriden Post No. 10815 V.F.W. and
the Meriden Masonic Lodge No. 236 AF & AM.
He married Helen R. Bell on Sept. 3, 1949, in Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include his mother, Lola Jo Rodecap, Osage City; three daughters, Betty
Ann Anderson, Norma J. Creek and Marilyn L. Johnson, all of Meriden; two brothers, Elmer
Rodecap and Bill Rodecap, both in Meriden; two sisters, Mary Martin, Topeka, and Emily
Royer, Meriden; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Meriden United Methodist Church. Burial will be
in Meriden Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by American Legion Post
No. 400. Mr. Rodecap will lie in state after 2 p.m. Monday at the Davidson Funeral Home,
where the family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m.
