Merle Brown, Corning, was born June 27, 1924 in Corning, daughter of Henry and Stella (Arnold) Brooks. She died in Arkansas Methodist Medical Center Friday, Feb. 29, 2008. She was 83.
A member of Corning First Baptist Church she worked as a coil finisher at Basler Electric Company. She married Hubert E. Brown on Sept. 21, 1943 in Walla Walla, WA. He preceded her in death Nov. 8, 1977.
Survivors are one brother Bill Brooks, Corning; three nephews and three nieces.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and one nephew.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 3, 2008 in the chapel of Ermert Funeral Home. Burial was in Corning Cemetery.
