EVERETT LINCOLN CLAPP, b.1876, Scituate, MA, d.1942, Scituate, MA, a son of Elijah Thomas Clapp and Ann Rosini (Clapp) of Scituate, MA; his parents were fourth cousins. Everett grew up assisting his father with their businesses in Greenbush across from the Greenbush Pond. In 1898 Everett, along with his two brothers William "Pete" Clapp and Richard Clapp, were almost drowned in the "Great Gale" that devastated the Northeast, of which much is written.


In 1899 in Scituate Everett m: MARY HARRIET "Mary" (WALLING), b.1879, Teignmouth, ENG, d.1966, Norwell, MA, a sister of Annie Walling who married Everett's brother, William "Pete" Clapp. They were daughters of George Walling and Harriet (Ghent) of Teignmouth, ENG and who, in 1882 as a family immigrated to the US and settled in Scituate, where her father, a peat bog expert, was foreman/manager of the cranberry bog on Old Oaken Bucket Rd., Scituate. Everett and Mary resided next door to his brother William and his family, Everett was a machinist and inspector for the United Shoe Machinery Co. After her mother's death, Mary's widowed father George resided with them. After Everett's death, Mary resided briefly in Elmhurst, IL with their only daughter, Evelyn, who had m: Charles Delmar Lynn, III with whom she had children. Mary then resided with her widowed sister Annie in Norwell, MA.)
